 This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Shannon Corey, followed by a prepared work session. 

Participating actors will prepare a scene assigned by the Casting Director several days before the class.

Additional preparation details will be sent upon RSVP confirmation.


BIO

ShannonCoreyis a freelance Casting professional based out of Los Angeles. A musical theatre enthusiast hailing from Chicago, IL, she performed at the Writer’s Theatre and the Lyric Opera of Chicago where her passion was born. This led her to Vanderbilt University, where she earned her degree in Vocal Performance, Theatre, and Corporate Strategy. After leaving Vanderbilt, she moved to New York to pursue a career in Casting. In 2017, she completed the Tepper Semester Casting Apprenticeship program through Syracuse University while interning at Telsey & Company. After 8 years of casting in NYC, she relocated to LA to further her career.

Shannonhas been fortunate enough to work with the most inspiring and empowering casting teams throughout NYC & LA. She greatly attributes her success to the strong women and offices she has worked for, including ABC, CBS, Bialy/Thomas, Cindy Tolan, Rori Bergman, Julie Schubert, Ellen Lewis, and Romano/Benner.Shannon’s most notable projects include Steven Spielberg’sWest Side Story, Love LifeandMrs. Fletcherfor HBO,East of Eden, Kaleidoscope,andManifestfor Netflix,The Walking Dead: World Beyond(AMC), and the feature filmCabrini.

Currently,Shannonis at Romano/Benner working on casting Season 3 ofShrinkingfor Apple TV+. She is also casting the independent feature filmThese Men Die Youngby Alfonso Morgan-Terrero. Additionally, she recently cast the independent feature,Music for the Requiem Mass,and short films,The Folly of Paris, Or, The Original Snub(Cleveland and Santa Fe Film Festivals), The Last Meeting, Skin Deep,andDead Weight.
